Best engagement Photo locations in Washington DC

DC has so many amazing locations to take your engagement photos. Here are a few of my current favorite locations for engagement sessions in Washington, DC. I’ll be sure to update it as I discover more!

Lincoln Memorial

I love the Lincoln Memorial! It’s classic, clean, beautiful and photographs so well! To avoid crowds, I recommend a sunrise session. In addition, you will need to obtain a permit through the National Parks Service (All of the locations on the National Mall require a permit). I’m more than happy to get you started with the process of getting a permit!

Jefferson Memorial

Jefferson Memorial Memorial might be my all time favorite location! My husband proposed in front of the structures so I’m a little biased ;). But really, it’s a stunner and never disappoints. I love how timeless it is and all the DC vibes it gives you. I definitely recommend doing a sunrise session here as well, especially in the summer. Also, parking is much easier during sunrise!

DC World War Memorial

This is a new discovery of mine! People have always talked about it, but I never booked a session here until recently! It’s an underrated spot and I’m not sure why! I like to think of it as a mini Jefferson Memorial, but without the people. If you are looking for a simple, intimate location with DC vibes, then this is the spot for you. It’s right by the reflecting pool so you can also grab a few photos there as well! Also fun fact, you can get married here! You have to obtain a permit, but what an epic place to have a wedding ceremony!

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is another underrated place for engagement photos! It’s a classic, clean look and you don’t need a permit! The best part is, you often have the whole place to yourself! It’s also a 2 minute walk from the Library of Congress.

Library of Congress

I love combining the Library of Congress with the US Supreme Court. The Library of Congress doesn’t open until 8:30 AM so it’s not always an option to take engagement photos inside. However, the outside of the building is stunning!

Fletchers Cove

I love this adorable park in Georgetown! It’s a very clean look, filled with beautiful nature!

Union Station

Union Station is a sunrise must since it gets so busy. I recommend combining a Union Station engagement session with the surrounding streets, which are all adorable.

Georgetown

I love walking/exploring around with couples for a Georgetown engagement session. We always find the cutest homes and locations to take photos! I can’t think of a single street in Georgetown that isn’t adorable.

Georgetown Waterfront

Georgetown Waterfront is another DC classic for an engagement session. It’s a very clean look with beautiful views. Be sure to take into consideration, the time of the year since it can be very busy in the summer!

Washington National Cathedral

The National Cathedral has to be my current favorite engagement session location!! The gardens and the buildings are absolutely incredible! You do need a permit to have a session here, but it is completely worth it!
